Barbara Jacocks

Barbara V. Jacocks, AICP, is Director of Community Development with PlanRVA.  As one of 21 Planning District Commission’s established in Virginia in 1969, PlanRVA serves as a collaborator, convener, and regional planner for Central Virginia’s nine jurisdictions, including the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Powhatan, the City of Richmond, and the Town of Ashland.

Barbara has worked at PlanRVA for almost 15 years.  Her career also includes extensive private sector experience providing a wide variety of planning services to municipalities, non-profits, educational institutions, and businesses focused on land use, housing, community and economic development. 

Barbara is a proud Hokie with a BA in urban studies from Virginia Tech, and a MS in Urban Planning from the University of Tennessee.
