Business Administration

Virginia Tech’s Professional MBA offers full-time working professionals the opportunity to earn an MBA degree in 24 months in a cohort-based program modeled after executive programs. The monthly in-person classes rotate between Richmond and Roanoke, ensuring that your cohort will consist of students from all over Virginia, enriching the classroom discussion and networking opportunities. The structure allows you the flexibility to travel for work and attend family events while engaging with your faculty and classmates in between the live classroom sessions. The online component provides online Q&A sessions, recorded lectures, discussion forums, and more. You will receive access to top-notch faculty and the education needed to achieve your goals. 


Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP)

CGEP delivers graduate engineering courses to students located across the commonwealth. Most courses are delivered simultaneously to students on-campus (Either in Blacksburg or Northern Virginia) and off-campus via WebEx. 


Educational Leadership & Policy Studies

Our program area offers M.A., Ed.S., Ed.D., and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Students pursuing the M.A. or Ed.S. are typically practicing P-12 teachers seeking positions as assistant principals, principals, or supervisors. Ed.D. and Ph.D. students are typically practicing school administrators preparing for the superintendency, upper-level central office positions, or positions in university teaching and research.


Information Technology

Dedicated to its motto (That I May Serve) Virginia Tech offers the Online Master of Information Technology (MIT) Program to prepare you to be a technological leader in your field or community. This unique interdisciplinary program is offered jointly by the Pamplin College of Business and the College of Engineering. The VT-MIT program is designed specifically for you as the working professional. The flexible online format will help you to reasonably manage professional, personal, and academic priorities. You can advance your career by earning your degree from a university recognized world-wide for academic excellence.

The VT-MIT program offers eight optional areas of study (modules) to complement your foundation courses. The modules are Networking, Security, Software Development, Big Data, Business Information Systems, Health Information Technology, Analytics and Business Intelligence and Decision Support Systems.


Instructional Technology

The Instructional Technology Master's Degree program offered through the School of Education at Virginia Tech is designed to meet the needs of professional educators in K-12 schools, community colleges, and higher education, as well as corporate trainers and other instructional development professionals outside of the academic realm. The focus of the program is on the creation of effective solutions to support learning and improved performance. Individual professional experiences are highly valued and will form the basis for most of the projects developed throughout the program. This is a distance learning program with all courses offerred completely online.


Public Administration & Policy

The Center for Public Administration and Policy Master of Public Administration (MPA) is an accredited professional degree intended to train and enhance the public sector leadership capacity of early and mid-career individuals. The program provides the practical, applied skills needed for positions involving policy, management, or executive responsibilities in public and not-for-profit settings. It is offered in three locations - Blacksburg, Alexandria, and Richmond, Virginia.
